Unity Luncheon honors Martin Luther King Jr.

Tamara Thomas, above, leads participants at the Jan. 21 Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Luncheon in the African-American anthem "Lift Every Voice and Sing." Among those attending were Linda Morales Husch, director of the Multicultural Resource Center, and President Lois B. DeFleur, who spoke on BU's broad diversity. Guest speaker for the event was Larry Simpson, pastor of New Heights Ministry in Binghamton, who spoke on the need to embrace diversity. A video of King's August 1963 "I Have a Dream" speech was also shown.
