Last month, we asked you to identify the most romantic spots in Binghamton. A big thank-you to our respondents, whose answers are clearly inspired by nostalgia.

The most romantic spots in Binghamton are . . .

The Copper Cricket [restaurant] and the Nature Preserve -- submitted by Ashley Mabbitt '99

The Nature Preserve (bridge) and Casadesus Hall (it's in the Fine Arts Building and has a pipe organ) -- Jennah Bender '96

Top of the World! Go up, up, up past Oakdale Mall, make a right, continue up past a TV station and a cemetery -- from there you can see the entire city! -- Andy M. Weiser '97

How many people will write and say "Whole in the Wall" or "Nature Preserve"? I've got one that's a personal favorite. Driving toward Binghamton on Route 26, just before you get off the Vestal Parkway exit, you can see the entire city illuminated at night from this bird's-eye view, and it's the sort of sweeping, panoramic image that makes you realize there's a lot more beauty in the Tri-Cities if you know where to look for it. I drove several dates up there to see that view, and none of those dates worked out, all because the plan backfired. I drove them there to make them fall in love with me, but they opted to fall in love with the view instead. -- Dave Berkowitz '00

The most romantic place is within walking distance of campus. It's Stair Park in April -- when the falls are heavy with tumbling water and the air is thick with the smells of spring. -- Mark Spreizer '98

The most romantic spot in Binghamton was actually in Vestal -- my bedroom in an off-campus house on Old Vestal Road! -- Alan Bergman '77
