JAB
annual dinner features Kaskeset performance
from
Boaz Berkowitz '98
On March 16, Jewish Alumni of Binghamton -- The Cultural Connection
(JAB) held its Fourth Annual Reunion Dinner on Manhattan's Upper
West Side. More than 130 alumni from all over the country and as
far away as Israel came in for the event to enjoy a catered dinner
and musical performance.
Memorabilia and pictures from Binghamton adorned
the walls as alumni shared nostalgic memories and recent experiences
among the many friends, both old and new, in attendance. "It is
always a great joy to be with the members of one's college community
and to realize that the bonds we have transcend time," said Rich
Solomon '82.
This year also marked the first in which Binghamton
University's student Jewish a cappella group, Kaskeset, performed
at the annual event. The ensemble received outstanding applause.
The students surprised everyone by including past Kaskeset members
attending the dinner in some of their songs.
"I had a wonderful time at the reunion and the Kaskeset
performance was wonderful. The music really added to the night!"
said Adam Rosen '98, who flew in from Cleveland for the event.
"And I loved the gift we were all given," he added, referring to
the limited-edition Binghamton mug specially designed for the event.
The event also included an appeal by co-chair Avi Schwartz '95,
encouraging alumni to continue their financial support of the University.
"The University needs our support this year more than ever," Schwartz
said during the meal, referring to the series of anti-Semitic incidents
the University was faced with this year. If you are interested in

Hope to see you at the next event!
