Raphael Copeland ’94 and Tanya Ayala ’96.

Raphael M. Copeland married Tanya Ayala ’96 on Aug. 27, 2005 at the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers, N.Y. Tanya is the Human Resources Director for a technology recruiting firm and Raph is the director of information technology for a medical institute based in New York City. The couple honeymooned in Bolivia. They live in Bronxville, N.Y.

David Nelson and Lisa (Barnett) Nelson welcomed son Jack Samuel on Nov. 21, 2005. Jack joins sister Jessica Hailey. The family lives in New City, N.Y.

Eileen Doherty-Tumminello and Dave Tumminello ’93 welcomed twin daughters Kathleen and Erin on Feb. 1, 2004. The family lives in Massapequa Park, N.Y.

Sharon Yard welcomed son Tavian Kevin Ashmeade on Nov. 7, 2005.

Wendy Berkowitz Kaplan and husband Keith welcomed daughter Gabrielle Sarah on Dec. 1, 2005. She joins brother Ian. Wendy is a partner in The Giggle Garden, a company that specializes in hand-crafted children’s items (www.gigglegarden.com). The family lives in Syosset, N.Y.

Daniel F. Cullen has been elected partner in the Chicago office of Baker & McKenzie LLP.

Evan R. Farber and wife Amanda welcomed son Dean Grayson on Jan. 20, 2006. He joins brother Jack. Evan is a partner with Hogan & Hartson LLP, a law firm based in Washington, D.C. The family lives in Bethesda, Md.

Joanne Kilduff Wells married William Wells on Oct. 29, 2005, in Stony Point, N.Y. The bridal party included Kristen O’Hagan Foti ’95. Other guests included Susan Beckett, Maureen Barna Hamblin, Patricia Marino, John Kelleher, Dyan Roppolo, Jean Marie O’Leary Houghton, Christine Fitzpatrick Brennan and Jeanine Jerro Doody all class of 1995. After honeymooning in Hawaii, the couple is at home in Manhattan.

Laura Feiwel married Daniel Barash on Oct. 16, 2005, in Woodbury, N.Y. The wedding party included Laura Peyser Deutsch, Mary Lindquist Pocsik, Mardi Weisblatt, all class of 1995; and Jennifer Sherer Schlesinger ’97. Attending the party were Jen Kauf, Rosemary Degliuomini Calligaris, Ron Calligaris, Christine D’ambrosia Heenan, Marianne Drnek, and Kristine Wong, all class of 1995; Monica Sherer ’91; and Mark Schlesinger ’96. The couple lives in Manhattan.

Liane V. Watkins and John E. Watkins Jr. have formed a partnership named Watkins & Watkins LLP, in White Plains, N.Y. They will continue their law practice limited to tax certiorari and eminent domain.

Lauren (Phipps) Harrel married Daniel Harrel in June 2002. They welcomed daughter Shannon in February 2004.

Fred Schulman, Esq. is pleased to announce the formation of his own law practice located in downtown Manhattan. The firm Fredrick A. Schulman PLLC specializes in the representation of catastrophically injured victims. Heather (Kuhn) Warren and husband Peter welcomed daughter Eve Aurelia on Jan. 2, 2006. She joins sister Page (2 years old). Heather is a stay-at-home mom. The family lives in the Washington, D.C., metro area.

Irma Schiff Weinberg married Brett Weinberg on Oct. 15, 2005, in Great Neck, N.Y. Bridesmaids included Alyssa Lefkowitz and Dori Ross Steir, both class of 1996. Wedding guests included Hugh Steir ’95; Sheri Gordon Barath, Michael Barath, Matthew Bergman, Amy Morganstern, Cristin Higgins Singer and Matthew Singer all class of 1996. Irma is a promotion manager for Hearst Magazines. The couple lives in Manhattan.

Stefanie Wasserman Glusky and Shon Glusky ’95 welcomed daughter Alexandra Chloe on Dec. 13, 2005. She joins her sister Samantha (1year old). Shon is a corporate attorney with the law firm Heller Ehrman LLP. Stefanie is a stay-at-home mom. The family lives in Westchester.

Scott Krug ’96 and his bride, Jamie Wysel.

Scott Krug married Jamie Wysel on July 10, 2005, on Long Island. Scott is the director of Internal Audit & Special Projects for the New York Yankees. The groom’s sister and brother-in-law, Stacy (Krug) Perrenod and Cully Perrenod, both class of 1998, were in the wedding party. Also in attendance were David Farber ’96 and Jason Abramowitz ’99. The couple lives in Manhattan.

Carlalynne Melendez, PhD, is an assistant professor at the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras. She teaches multidisciplinary courses in geoethnography, geographical information systems and environmental science. She is founder and president of the non-profit organization Liga Taina-Ke Inc., which is involved in the indigenous (Taino) cultural revival movement on the island. Mark Winarsky was promoted to vice president at Merrill Lynch.

Tiffany Marie Del Greco married Ryan R. Staab in September 2001. Tiffany is an analyst for the government. The couple lives in Alexandria,Va.

Sara J. Rohrwasser married Christopher A. Colello on April 24, 2005, at the Cranwell Resort in Lenox, Mass. Ed Altabelt ’98 was a guest. Sara is a buyer for KB Toys corporate office in Pittsfield, Mass. The couple lives in Pittsfield, Mass.

Felipe Ayala Jr. and wife Natalie Ayala welcomed daughter Elisia Jaanai on Dec. 26, 2005.

Joshua Friedman and Karen (Cataldo) Friedman welcomed daughter Tzippora Mikhal on Sept. 5, 2005. She joins sister Aviva. The family lives in Plainview, N.Y.

Justin Reyes ’98 and his bride, Miriam Wilson.

Justin Reyes married Miriam Wilson on Jan. 14, 2006. The ceremony was held in Riverside Church followed by a reception at The Lighthouse, Chelsea Piers. Justin received his MBA, with a dual concentration in finance and management, from Fordham University. He is a business analyst at JP Morgan Chase & Co. The couple lives in Ft. Greene, Brooklyn.

Hans A. Dalmolen is a managing partner of Valletta Ritson & Company, a retained executive search firm headquartered in Binghamton, N.Y., which serves Fortune 1000 clients globally to attract and retain key senior-management and executive talent. He lives in Binghamton with his wife, Suh.

Kristen (Leahy) Dascoli and husband Ed welcomed daughter Leah Heather on Aug. 11, 2005. Kristen works from home to care for her daughter. Fellow classmates can reach her at kristen.dascoli@gmail.com. The family lives on Long Island.

Tanisha D. Grimes Arroyo, MASS, moved back to the Binghamton, N.Y., area in July 2004. “It’s amazing how much has changed since I graduated. My heart is touched when my children see the library tower from the parkway and say, ‘That’s where mommy went to college’. I love it! My boys are 5 and 7 and they are always asking if they can go to Binghamton University when they grow up.”

Lisa Weiskoph-Hubbard, MA, earned a National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification as an exceptional-needs specialist in November 2004. She was the first in her building to earn this higher certification, the second in her school district to achieve it and the only one who has earned it in the area of special education in her district. She and her husband welcomed their second child, Hailey Joy, on April 15, 2005.

Sara B. Attas married Ronen M. Feldman in November 2005 on Long Island. Beth Herzog ’99 was in the wedding party. Guests included Carolyn (Fitton) Hammerschmidt ’98; Lori (Wood) Sievers, Randi Rosenstein and Laura Martin all ’99. The couple lives in Brooklyn.

Deborah M. Genin recently graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic. She is engaged to Dr. Paul Beberman, chiropractor.

Rebecca Harrington Weber married Matthew Weber on Sept. 10, 2005, in Cortland, N.Y. In attendance were Abby Berner and Sue Bogdan Jewett both class of 2000; and Heather Flaherty ’98 and Kelly Call Griffith ’90. The couple lives in Rochester, N.Y. Becky is a registered nurse at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Kelly Germinario Gibbons married Colum Gibbons BSE ’98, MS ’00, on June 11, 2005, on Long Island. Alumni present at the wedding included Rebecca Harrington-Weber ’00; Michelle Dane ’00; Danielle Dick-Fridline ’98 and Dan Fridline ’96; and John Ruck, Daryl Derkowski, Uri Myerson and Carri Kraskin-Myerson, Angelo Motta, Ian Majid, Alana Schaefer, Michael Duff, and William Jeberg, all class of 1998. Kelly is employed at Huntington Hospital as an operating room registered nurse and Colum is an engineer with Northrop Grumman. The couple lives in Holtsville, N.Y.

William J. Ryan of the USMC is serving in Fallujah, Iraq, through July 2006 as the Staff Judge Advocate for 1/1.

Debra J. Farber received her JD from Brooklyn Law School in June 2005. She has recently joined American Express as the manager of Online Privacy and works in the World Financial Center in downtown Manhattan.

Kristen Weber graduated from Pace University in September 2005 with a master’s of science in publishing. She currently works as an editor at Warner Books where she runs their mystery imprint, Mysterious Press, and works with authors including Kate White, Marcia Muller and Margaret Maron.

Dina Shoykhet Katz received her MEd from University of Massachusetts in Boston in 2005.

John Ros accepted a position as coordinator at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson,Vt. His April 1–,8, 2006, exhibit featured new work from Vermont including painting, monotype and drawing.

Kristin (Leonard) Leicht married Alexander Leicht ’02 on July 31, 2004, in Little Falls, N.Y. Kristin is employed by Bartlett, McDonough, Bastone, Monaghan LLP in Mineola, N.Y. Alex is a music teacher for the New York City Department of Education.

Elizabeth Kohlman ’01, Sharon Glassman ’01, Anuj Malhotra, Karen Braswell, Amanda Horowitz (all class of 2002) and Andrew McIntyre ’03 attended the wedding. The couple lives in Franklin Square, N.Y.

Erin Senig married Jeffrey Schirota on Oct. 9, 2005, at the Round Hill House in Washingtonville, N.Y. Jeffrey is a help-desk administrator for Connolly Consulting. Erin is a young adult librarian at the Bronxville Public Library. Johnna (Schirota) Mascola ’97 and Stephen Mascola ’98; Justin Terpstra ’00; Ed Lam ’00; Chris Biscuiti ’01; Rob Sinatra ’01; and Rebecca Burnstein ’02 attended the wedding. The couple lives in Bedford, N.Y.

Kathleen Loonam ’01 and her husband, Joseph Faccio.

Kathleen Loonam married Joseph Faccio on March 12, 2005. The wedding party included bridesmaids Marie (Iacobellis) Netto and Alyssa Taragano, both class of 2001. Attending the wedding were Kimberly (Mandel) Malerba, Joseph Netto, both class of 2000; Christy Shea; Christine Merceron; Christopher Haley; Elisa Dragu; Luciana Cassano; Amy (Szygiel) O’Hagan, all class of 2001; and Valerie Holzherr ’02. Kathleen is a fouth-year medical student at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. The couple lives in Bethpage, N.Y.

Jane (Oster) Brophy and John Brophy ’00 welcomed son Aaron Yehuda on Nov. 18, 2005. He joins brother Samuel Eitan. Jane graduated from Georgetown University’s midwifery program with a master’s of science in December 2005.

Kechener Fortunat married Anne Blezin ’02 on July 9, 2005, in Brooklyn, N.Y. Guests included Yvan Fortunat ’01, groom’s brother and best man; Fatima Blezin ’01, sister of the bride; Monifa Bright ’00; Copucine Lambert, Kanran Toussaint, both class of 2001; Emmanuel Durace ’02; Garly Benoit, Stephania Michel both ’03; Raldyne Charles, Sophia Cazeau, Trudy-Ann Hunter, all class of 2004; and Clauvens Durace ’05. The couple lives in New York City.

Allison Monticello ’01 and her husband, Andrew Finiasz.

Allison Monticello married Andrew Finiasz on Feb. 25, 2006. Allison works at Long Island City High School, and Andrew works for Ernst and Young LLP. The couple lives in Astoria.

Vanessa Nittoli ’03 and her husband, Kevin Leahy ’02.

Vanessa Nittoli married Kevin Leahy ’02 on Aug. 14, 2005, at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. The wedding party included Nicole Carroll Gjokaj ’96, Melanie Honerkamp ’04, and Elizabeth Willingham ’05. Vanessa is an associate editor at Facts on File Inc. Kevin is the vice president of acquisitions and assets for Beck Street Capital. The couple lives in Manhattan.

Jamie Marie (Baier) Garcia married Michael Garcia on Sept. 25, 2005, graduated with an MSEE from Duke University and started a new job in October. “After all these exciting events she is settling down and beginning to plan her next move with her new conspirator, Mike.”

Shameeka L. Mattis graduated with an MSW from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Work in May 2005. She works with children, relative caregivers and the incarcerated mothers of these children. The mothers have substance-abuse issues and get involved with the program to work on their recovery and reconnect with their children in some way after being released from prison. “It is a hard, but extremely fulfilling position.”

Tiara Higdon McCray married Richard Arnold McCray II on March 12, 2006. The couple met at Howard University School of Law, where they are both attaining their juris doctorates. Tiara graduates in May and will take the New York bar exam in July. She will then work for the New York State Court System as a legal fellow for one year and then clerk for the District of Columbia Court of Appeals in 2007. She plans to practice civil rights and international human rights law.

Neil Thomas Case was on the track and field team all four years while at Binghamton University. “I was the captain of the team my junior and senior years. I had a great time getting to know my classmates and professors. I think that human development has some of the friendliest professors in the school.”

IN MEMORIAM

Romolo Ceccarelli ’61 died in December 2005 of an aortic aneurism. He was almost 73. Rom attended Harpur College on the G.I. bill after serving with the Air Force in the Korean War. He received his PhD in Italian Literature from Johns Hopkins in 1963. He is survived by a son, two daughters and his former wife, Judith Hansen ’61.

Donna M. Blake ’77 died on Jan. 15, 2006, at Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton. She was an employee of Lockheed Martin Federal Systems, Owego, N.Y., for the past 30 years and served as Chief Information Officer for the past two years. Donna was always eager to help out Binghamton University students and sponsored several tours and interview sessions for the Watson School’s student chapter of the Society of Women Engineers. She was a great family vacation planner and enjoyed outdoor activities such as skiing and kayaking with her family. She enjoyed reading best-selling novels, was an avid fan of football and baseball, and especially the Binghamton Mets. Donna was always dedicated to her family and was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend.

Randy S. Rockwell ’77 died on Nov. 21, 2005. As a student at Binghamton University, he performed with the jazz ensemble as a bassist. He was employed as a computer analyst/programmer by Computer House, Financial Systems Inc., and Gemini Systems of South Portland and Scarborough. He and his partner acquired the computer portion of the business and incorporated as Taurus Systems of Saco. Randy served as president of Taurus until his death. He is survived by his wife, Sarah, and stepson.

Evan Hunter Gordon ’80 died suddenly on Nov. 2, 2005, in Brooklyn, N.Y. His friends and family held a memorial service on April 8, 2006, a few days after what would have been his 50th birthday. For more details contact Lauren Gordon at laurengordon1954@yahoo.com.

Richard G. Smith died on March 8, 2006. He came to the area in 1969 to teach acting/directing at Binghamton University and founded the Cider Mill Playhouse.
