Wayne P. Anderson '64 died July 4, 2003, in Danville, Pa. He was 61. Wayne earned his PhD in chemistry from the University of Illinois in 1968, and was a member of the chemistry department faculty at the University of Delaware, 1968-75, and then at Bloomsburg University, 1976-2003, where he also served as department chair from 1987 to 1993. A member of the American Chemical Society, Wayne was the author of 22 papers on computer modeling of chemistry bonding and chemistry education, and was very active in the MoleCVUE Project. He enjoyed model trains, catfishing on the Bohemia River in Maryland, the University of Florida Gators football team and Bloomsburg University Huskies football games. Wayne is survived by his wife, Linda.

Jean M. Sweeney, MS '80 died May 18, 2003, in Elmira. She was 71. A graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing and of Alfred University, Jean worked as a nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital for several years before founding and operating Community Nursing Services for the Elderly, an organization she headed for more than 20 years. In addition, Jean was a nursing instructor at Elmira College, SCT BOCES and Alfred University. An active member of her community, Jean was involved as a member and/or officer with Business Professional Women, Southport Historical Society, Southport Business Association, Last Wives Club, Meals on Wheels, R.S.V.P. and New York State Nurses District 3. Jean was also an associate of the Sisters of Mercy, Diocese of Rochester, and a long-time communicant of St. Anthony's/ St. Patrick's Church. ÒShe loved her family gatherings and enjoyed her worldwide travels,Ó reads her obituary in the Elmira Star-Gazette. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Paul, and survived by four children, eight grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.

Scott Jeffrey Wolfe '85 died Feb. 12, 2003. He was 39. Scott worked for Verizon Wireless building computer systems. ÒA very involved father of two children, Dustin, 11, and Melody, 8, he was also active in town sports for Rockaway, N.J.,Ó writes his wife, Julie Morgenstern Wolfe '85. ÒHe was very involved in disc (Frisbee) sports, especially disc golf. Scott was vibrant and full of life.Ó He is survived by his wife, his children, his parents and sister.

L. Scott Read '91 died May 24, 2003. He was 34. Many of Scott's fellow graduates attended the funeral. ÒAll will remember Scott as a loving friend and one of the most positive individuals we have had the privilege to know,Ó wrote George Niesz, MAT '93. Scott is survived by his wife, Becky, his parents, and his brother and sister.

Gregg David Wenzel '91 died July 9, 2003, in Ethiopia. He was 33. Gregg studied at Tel Aviv University and earned his JD from the University of Miami School of Law in 1994. He was a police academy instructor for the Miami-Dade Community College-North Campus School of Justice and Safety Administration, assistant public defender for Dade County and served on the Florida bar council, where he tried Supreme Court cases. ÒGregg was a 10-time marathon runner and finisher and three-time Ironman finisher as well as a world traveler,Ó reads his obituary in the Miami Herald. ÒHe was affiliated with many organizations, some of which include Chabad, the University of Miami Masters Swimming, the Florida Bar Speakers Bureau, the Florida State and Federal Bar (Southern District), FACDL, Dade County Bar Association (Young Lawyers' Division), Civil Litigation Committee (DCBA), Miami Runners' Club and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Team in Training. . . . His memory will be instilled in the many lives he inspired and touched with his positive attitude and motivation toward life.Ó Gregg is survived by his parents, Gladys and Mitchell, three sisters, and many other relatives and friends.
