Remembering September 11

Seth Mates '00 lost good friend, Paul J. Battaglia '00, on 9/11. This year, he chose to remember the happiness of that friendship and not the images of disaster on the three-year anniversary. "Beyond the tragedy of Sept. 11, the experience has taught me what's truly important in life -- that what matters most are family and friends, and being in a place where I feel safe and loved and completely at peace with the world," Seth writes in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin. "And because of that, while most people will spend today marveling at the still-unbelievable images of three years ago, I'll be calling friends to share favorite memories of Paul."
