Boston alumni turn out for the Red Sox game
From Andrew Shaw '97, network coordinator

The Boston Alumni Network attended its annual Red Sox game at Fenway Park Sept. 15. This year, attendance included alumni from four decades and a guest appearance from Alumni Board of Directors member Bruce Cameron '88. The event included a reception at An Tua Nua Restaurant, where alumni had an opportunity to catch up and have some food before the game. At the reception, the network also discussed future events, including plans to watch the Binghamton athletic teams when they come to the Boston area. Alumni and their friends had more than 70 seats at the game. The Red Sox lost, but the biggest cheers came from the scoreboard showing the Patriots' score over the New York Jets, 44-7.

Atlanta alumni continue to meet at monthly all-SUNY socials
From Paula Brightwell '97, network coordinator

The Atlanta monthly happy hours held on the third Thursday of each month at Rock Bottom Brewery in Buckhead have been successful. The past two months have brought alumni together from Binghamton University, Cortland, Fredonia, Geneseo, Oswego and Potsdam. Some have returned from attending previous events and some are just finding out about us. We are excited that the word is spreading and touching more and more alumni from all these different schools.

Rock Bottom continues to be a great central location, but we realized it has been hard to find our group within the restaurant. We are making a bigger effort to "advertise" our event by bringing back the balloon philosophy to mark our location back by the pool tables. We apologize for any confusion and hope that alumni will try again if they weren't able to find us before.

Please remember that each event brings new alumni, so you never know whom you will see at the next one. Upcoming happy hour dates have been posted on the local website at www.geocities.com/sunyalumniofatlanta. Alumni should remember to check this site for pictures and recaps of the events. We are also working on the details for our annual Business Card Exchange in January 2003 and next year's events. Information will be relayed as it develops.

Of course, Binghamton University will be sending e-mail reminders to our alumni. Please help us to stay connected to you and this local organization. If you know that our office doesn't have your current e-mail address, please submit information via the alumni page at www.binghamton.edu. I am always willing to hear from you, so feel free to contact me at georgia_bearcat@hotmail.com or 678-772-8114 with any questions or comments.

Sigma Nu fraternity enjoys golf outing
From Chris Musumeci '89

Twenty-three Binghamton/Sigma Nu Alumni, class years 1987 to 1997, attended the first annual Sigma Nu golf outing Aug. 23 at Port Washington's Harbor Links Golf Course on Long Island. In addition, several other non-golfing brothers joined the golfers for refreshments in New York City afterwards. A great time was had by all.

Tournament Highlights: Dave Seidner '89 (best score) and Pete Breckling '92 (longest drive) shot the lowest scores of 80 and 81, respectively. Dave Grill '89 took home the lowest net score of Ð11 . . . although there were some serious rumblings as to the accuracy of his handicap. David Gold '89, John Geisler '90, Ian Hirsch '93, Mike Destefano '87 and Sean Doherty '89 represented past and present Ernst & Young associates.

Kudos to Tim Devine '90 for making this event a reality, and to Crown Royal and Bulleit Bourbon for providing gifts for the players. We look forward to having an even larger turnout at next year's outing.
