University Law Alumni Reception

On November 3 a Binghamton University Law Alumni Reception was hosted by Rick B. Antonoff, Esq. '81, David E. Bolen, Esq. '90, Alan S. Gaynor, Esq. '87, Warren J. Karp, Esq. '70, Barry E. Shimkin, Esq. '65 at Greenberg Traurig LLP in New York City.

The program included presentations by Dean Jean-Pierre Mileur and Professor Wendy Martinek, Department of Political Science, Harpur College of Arts & Sciences at Binghamton University. Dean Mileur spoke on the new fundraising initiative to support the creation of a Constitutional Law Professorship. Richard Alpern, Esq. '69, Harpur Law Council Chair, announced the launch of the Law Council's newest endeavor - the Harpur Law Council Mentor Program. The evening concluded with a business card draw and a few lucky alumni got to take a bit of Binghamton home with them.

Here's a nice letter to Joel Thirer, Director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics from Harpur alum Barry Winkler, '65.

Barry Winkler '65, proudly holds his sign: GO BEARCATS!

Subject: Binghamton Basketball

Dear Joel:
Nice to meet you in Ann Arbor on Monday night. Howie Levinton and our wives
had a great time at the game. Attached is a photo of me with our sign that I
paraded around the arena, including directly in front of the students. The
students began a chant directed at me, "Where's your hair." Absolutely
hilarious.

Team has solid talent, plays hard from beginning to end and will do well
this year. Too bad our talented post player had to sit most of the game. He
would have outplayed U of M's Sims had he not been in foul trouble
throughout.

I took a photo of the scoreboard at the end of the game. Would you like to
have a copy? And would the team like to have a copy? Let me know.
Go Harpur Colonials, oops, sorry, I meant to write,
Go Binghamton Bearcats.
