Syracuse, NY March 15 -- Alumna Reading & Reception at BORDERS--

Harpur College of Arts & Sciences and the Binghamton University Alumni Association hosted a reading and book signing for the launch of Diana Abu-Jaber’s newest novel “The Language of Baklava -- a Memoir”. Ms. Abu-Jaber a native of the Syracuse area received her Ph.D. in English from Harpur in 1986. Alumni from Binghamton University and SUNY Oswego (her undergraduate institution) were attended along with members of the community.

 

Washington, DC April 11 -- Jordanian Embassy Reception & Reading --Ambassador Karim Kawar hosted a reception and reading by novelist, Diana Abu-Jaber Ph.D. ’86. As part of the Ambassador’s Cultural Series, Ms. Abu-Jaber read from her newest novel “The Language of Baklava -- a Memoir”. Alumni in the Potomac area were invited to join other guests of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for the literary evening.
 



 

Boston, Mass. April 12 -- Reception for Boston Area Alumni
Alumni gathered at the Boston Museum of Science for an evening reception. After guests were treated to an Omni Theater Adventure with the IMAX movie, Mysteries of the Nile Vice Provost, Michael McGoff addressed the group and gave a campus update. The dessert reception catered by Wolfgang Puck.

On page 12 of the Spring 2005 Binghamton Alumni Journal, Michael Marcus is mis-identified as Larry Hollander in a picture with President Lois DeFleur.
